Four Years of Sunny Garden
sunny.garden went online near the end of April 2022… Happy fourth fediversary! 🎉 🎂
Mastodon Updates
Mastodon v4.5.9 was released containing some minor fixes. Most updates only result in a few seconds of interruption, but I applied some system updates at the same time resulting in a few minutes of unexpected downtime, sorry!
Scheduled Maintenance
The server was also offline for a few minutes for a scheduled reboot, since it had been almost a year since kernel updates had been applied.
Then a couple of weeks later, a kernel security issue dubbed Copy Fail was discovered affecting almost every Linux machine in existence, and the server was rebooted again to apply the fix.
